Investigation Of Fengwei Dagu In Panshi City,Jilin Province

Fengwei Drum is a kind of art that currently exists in the panshi area of Jilin Province and it belongs to the northeastern drum.In 2011,it was identified by the Jilin Government as the third batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage.Fengwei drum is a not well known instrument and with the times,its survival has become less and less possible.Wenfa Huang is the sole inheritor of Fengwei Drum.In April 2015,he was named as the inheritor of the provincial intangible cultural heritage project.Wenfa Hung was born with blind disease and worked even harder comparing the others during his studies.Due to the poverty of his family,he regards the Fengwei drum as a way to support himself.In order to keep the Fengwei drum survive,Wenfa Huang has never given up on performing.For the Fengwei Drum and the inheritors,there is no specific literature and research papers for it.The performance form,singing features and inheritance value of Fengwei Drum have not been fully recognized.Through the interviews with the inheritor Wenfa Huang and the relevant person in Panshi City Cultural Center and the collected materials,after summarizing Wenfa Huang's academic experience,this article sums up the performance forms and vocal lyrics of the singing to propose some suggestions for inheriting Fengwei Drums and to fill the gaps in the related research.The article is mainly composed of four chapters,the specific content is:The first chapter gives an overview of the Panshi area where Fengwei Drum is located,summarizes the historical origins of Fengwei Drum and gives a specific definition to the Fengwei Drum.The second chapter discusses the specific performance form of the Fengwei drum,the tunes used for singing,the description of accompaniment instruments,and a comparison with the northeast drum style.The third chapter mainly describes the inheritance development process of Fengwei Drum in Panshi City,including the main activities of the inheritors from studying to teaching,the inheritance pedigree and the performance style of the inheritors during the performance.The fourth chapter proposes some specific suggestions for promoting the inheritance and development of Fengwei Drum,and made an extended thinking on the work of Fengwei Drum.
