"Cheng" is an important content in Confucianism. On the basis of the inheritance and development of the three generations of civilization, the Confucianism of the pre-qin dynasty has borne abundant ideological fruits, and the connotation of "Cheng" has been enriched and improved in the thoughts of various scholars.Confucius mentioned the thought of "sincerity" many times in the discussion of the study, the cultivation of rites, the cultivation of morality and other human relations affairs. From the perspective of inner transcendence,"Cheng" also has metaphysical significance, and "inner transcendence" is a unique philosophical perspective of Confucian philosophy generated in the exploration of the thought of mind and nature and the relationship between heaven and man.Sincerity from the perspective of inner transcendence is not only the core of the relationship between heaven and man,but also the intermediary and self-cultivation method of the unity of heaven and man.It is also an important way for Confucianism to achieve the realm of inner transcendence. The relationship between "inner transcendence","Cheng" and "unity of heaven and man" is consistent in the doctrine of the mean.On this basis, some Chinese and foreign Confucian scholars regard "Cheng" as the theme or core of "the doctrine of the mean",which is also the basis for this paper to choose "Cheng" as the theme to explore the text of "the doctrine of the mean" and the idea of "the unity of man and nature".Based on the analysis of the philosophical connotation of "Cheng" and its meaning in "the doctrine of the mean",this paper makes a comprehensive discussion on the important concepts of "unity of heaven and man" and "inner transcendence" in Chinese philosophy, explores its theoretical significance, and at the same time pays attention to and reflects on the relevant issues in modern society and real life.First of all, this paper sorts out the connotation and ideological origin of "Cheng",summarizes the thoughts of Confucian scholars on "sincerity" in the pre-qin period, and makes a logical summary of the thoughts of "Cheng" in the pre-qin period.Secondly, this paper makes a philosophical analysis of the thought of "inner transcendence",and probes into the thought of "inner transcendence" in Chinese philosophy and the connotation of "Cheng" in the doctrine of the mean.Thirdly, from the perspective of internal transcendence, this paper discusses the thoughts of "Cheng" and "unity of heaven and man" in the doctrine of the mean, and makes a comprehensive analysis of the relations among the three. Finally, combined with the characteristics of modern society and the spirit of The Times, this paper reflects on the practical significance of the research, analyzes the possible breakthroughs and shortcomings, and at the same time looks forward to the trend and direction of further exploration.
