The sense of control is one of the most important psychological needs of human beings. The external environment of people's life is always in the process of constant change, and individuals a re also confronted with the deprivation of the sense of control at any time.Once the individual los es the sense of control,he will have the motivation to regain the sense of control, and regain the sense of control through various compensatory behaviors, this process is called compensatory contro l.At present, the research on compensatory control mainly focuses on cognitive processing, mental health, consumer economy, political system and other aspects. In previous studies on the effect of a sense of control on helping behavior, researchers general ly believed that individuals with a high sense of control were more likely to perform prosocial beh aviors such as helping, cooperation and trust, while individuals with a low sense of control tended to perform aggressive behaviors. In recent years, some researchers have explored the relationship b etween deprivation of sense of control and helping behavior from the perspective of compensatory control. After deprivation of individual's sense of control, the level of the sense of control is lower, but it will increase the helping behavior. This is in conflict with previous research suggesting that individuals with a low sense of control develop aggressive behavior. On the other hand, previous research in general is called the control strip, control deprived recent researchers divided into short control deprivation and long time control deprivation, found that two types of deprivation will pro duce different effect, short control deprivation was proved to cause the primary control, and long ti me control deprivation can cause secondary control, and tend to produce the learned helplessness. Therefore, the conclusion that the original sense of control deprivation will increase the helping be havior is a phenomenon under the short control deprivation,or it covers people's psychological and behavioral responses under the long-term loss of control, which needs to be further revealed.Ther efore, this study designed two experiments to investigate the effect of short control deprivation on helping behavior.Experiment 1 investigated the influence of the short control deprivation on the explicit helping attitude of the test subjects. The experiment design of the single-factor test subjects was adopted,in which the independent variable used the conceptual judgment paradigm to conduct the deprivatio n of the sense of temporary control on the individual, and the dependent variable used a situationa l questionnaire to measure the explicit helping attitude of the test subjects. The results showed that compared with the non-deprived group, the subjects who were deprived of the short control depriv ation had a higher explicit helping attitude.Experiment 2 investigated the effect of short control deprivation on implicit helpfulness attitude. The experiment design among the subjects with single factor was adopted,in which the independe nt variable was deprived of the individual's transient sense of control using the conceptual judgment paradigm, and the dependent variable was used to measure the implicit helpfulness attitude of the subjects using the IAT paradigm. The results showed that compared with the non-deprived group, the subjects who were short control deprivation had a higher implicit helping attitude. In previous studies on helping attitude and helping behavior,a large amount of evidence suppo rts that helping attitude has a positive predictive effect on helping behavior. Therefore, the experim ental results show that transient sensory deprivation of control can increase the helping behavior of individuals.Helping behavior is an effective means of compensatory control. In the absence of se nse of control, individuals can increase their sense of control through helping behavior. From the perspective of compensatory control, this study deeply analyzed the psychological eff ect of helping behavior, profoundly revealed the correlation between the sense of control and helpin g behavior, and provided new experimental evidence for the theory of compensatory control.
