Since the 1970 s,critical reading has received more and more attention from Western scholars.In recent years,some scholars in China have also begun to turn to critical reading.At the same time,China's educational reform has made great progress,especially in English teaching.The English curriculum standards also point out that high school students 'schools should cultivate their critical thinking according to their cognitive needs.Critical reading requires readers to understand the article deeply through thinking activities such as prediction,analysis,reasoning,judgment,and evaluation.It is an important way to cultivate students' critical thinking.Therefore,the critical reading teaching in the high school English classroom is the urgent requirement of the information age and the new curriculum standards,and it also satisfies the needs of students 'physical and mental development.There are more studies on critical reading teaching at home and abroad,but few on critical reading strategies in English.In the background of information technology,using the advantages of information technology to support the study of critical reading teaching in English is even less interesting.Based on the needs of real development and the background of information technology,this study designed the Critical Reading Strategy(TCR)in high school English reading,which provides teachers with a new reading teaching model,which is conducive to students finding more effective English reading strategies.Cultivate good reading habits and promote the development of critical thinking and the improvement of critical reading skills.With reference to several typical critical reading models at home and abroad,the author takes constructivist learning theory,schema theory,critical discourse analysis theory,and cognitive theory as the theoretical basis.With the aim of enhancing the concept of critical reading,thinking training as the main line,guidance for problem brackets,and cooperation and communication as an auxiliary design concept,a critical reading strategy for high school English has been gradually designed.In addition,a two-month critical reading teaching experiment was conducted in the high school English classroom.The purpose is to explore whether critical reading strategies are conducive to improving students 'English reading performance.Is it helpful for students to improve their ability to read critically? Are students 'awareness of critical reading strategies enhanced? Based on the previous theoretical research and making full use of the advantages of modern information technology,all the students in class XX of XX Experimental Middle School in Qidong County in this study designed the critical reading strategy(TCR)in high school English reading based on the current lack of critical reading ability of high school students.The critical reading strategies designed in this study mainly refer to these five strategies: prediction,analysis,reasoning,judgment,and evaluation.In the background of information technology,teachers use conceptual map software and microlesson software in the course of teaching and practice,and give a more detailed introduction to the specific operation and use of each strategy,aiming at high school English reading.Improve students 'reading comprehension and reading ability through critical reading strategies.Through the analysis of two months time series,the author confirmed the use of critical reading strategies through questionnaire.The experimental results show that through the teaching of Critical Reading Strategy(TCR),students 'critical reading ability has been strengthened and their English reading performance has been significantly improved.Therefore,in the context of information technology,it is very important to carry out critical teaching in high school English classes.It can cultivate students 'critical thinking ability and innovation ability,which is conducive to students' keen interest in learning.Students 'desire for knowledge can be further met,and meet the urgent requirements of the information age,new curriculum standards,and quality education.
