With the multi-communication and cooperation between China and the Western countries in the field of the medical science,the research of drugs has gained rapid development and wide attention.At the same time,the damage of the Adverse Drug Reaction(ADR)has also become a common issue which is worthy of attention,and researches in the Adverse Drug Reaction reports have become the key point in the medical and academic field.Due to the important role which the ADR reports have been playing in the treatment of patients and the significant meaning to the medical communication and cooperation around the world,the translation of the ADR reports takes on the features of specialty,specialization and significance.In the field of the medical science,the ADR reports in China developed late,so it is relatively new.Therefore,the translation on ADR reports is likely to assist the medical technology,summarize the clinical practices,and more importantly,help the exchange of the medical technology between China and Western countries.The present research has mainly discussed the translation of ADR reports from the following aspects: firstly,it introduces the status quo of the translation about ADR reports;then,it gives specific explanation about the core ideas of the explicitation theory which lays a foundation for the case study;Last,it studies the translation of ADR reportss in such diverse ways as obligatory explicitation,optional explicitation and pragmatic explicitation.The author hopes to offer some examples and references for the translators who will translate ADR reports.Meanwhile,it may help the medical personnel of different languages and some foreign cross-border patients.All in all,it is hoped that the present research will make contributions to the field of translation on ADR.
