Writing is the reflection of students' comprehensive language ability and the a difficult part for students to master.However,due to various reasons,the teaching of English writing in senior high school is not really effective,and there are many errors in students' English composition,among which the inflectional errors are extremely common,which to a large extent hinders the improvement of senior high school students' English writing achievement.Based on the theories of error analysis,language transfer and interlanguage fossilization,this paper systematically analyzes the inflectional errors in the English writing of senior high school students.The purpose of this study is to provide senior high school English teachers with countermeasures against these errors,improve the accuracy of the inflections in the English writing of senior high school students and improve their English writing level.This paper attempts to solve the following three problems.1.What kinds of inflectional errors are most likely occurred in senior high school English writing?2.What are the main causes of these errors in senior high school English writing?3.In what ways can teachers reduce students' inflectional errors in English writing through teaching?In the process of studying the inflectional errors of senior high school students,the author chose 108 students in Grade two of Zun Yi No.1 High School as the research subjects,analyzed the writing text of the third unified English examination for Senior High Schools in 2018,and discussed the reasons for and countermeasures against the inflectional errors in combination with interviews with students and teachers.The results show that:(1)Inflectional errors account for one third of the total errors.Among the students' inflectional errors,the inflectional errors of verbs are the most frequent(55.9%),followed by inflectional errors of nouns(24.3%),inflectional errors of pronouns(18.4%),adjective and adverb inflectional errors(1.3%).(2)There are interlingual transfer,intralingual transfer and other reasons for the inflectional errors of senior high school students,among which the main reason is negative transfer of mother tongue,and other reasons such as tight test time,high pressure and lack of sufficient English writing training cannot be ignored.(3)This paper puts forward a series of countermeasures for the forms and causes of the inflectional errors in senior high school students' compositions.Teachers can effectively help reduce the inflectional errors in students' compositions by establishing a correct attitude,using error analysis,learning strategies of writing,output,error correction strategies,andstrengthening grammar teaching,so as to improve the teaching effect of English writing and students' English writing ability.
