Previous studies on the relationship between creativity and prepotent response inhibition have not reached a consensus conclusion,nor have new breakthroughs been made in experimental paradigm and technology.This limits our study of the prepotent response inhibition mechanism and our understanding of the relationship between creativity and prepotent response inhibition is limited to a simple correlation of their concepts.Accordingly,the study on relevant neuronal activities is still insufficient.Based on the previous studies and toke college students or graduate students as participants.firstly,using 2 priming stimulus types(color block/colourless word)× 2 priming-detecting stimulus matching types(priming stimulus and detecting stimulus were identical in meaning/priming stimulus and detecting stimulus were identical in color)experiment within subjects,this study combined the classical Stroop paradigm with priming effect paradigm and mainly discussed the mechanism of prepotent response inhibition.Secondly,using 2 Individual creativity levels(high/low)×2 priming-detecting stimulus matching types(priming stimulus and detecting stimulus were identical in meaning/priming stimulus and detecting stimulus were identical in color)experiment mixed design,and through application of event-related potentials technology,Chinese long-distance association test and the Stroop-priming paradigm,this study mainly discussed the different creativity individuals' characteristics of brain nerve activity in prepotent response inhibition priming task.Study 1 found that the efficiency of prepotent response inhibition was higher under the condition of color block priming than that under the condition of colourless word,and the efficiency of prepotent response inhibition was also higher under the condition of priming stimulus and detecting stimulus were identical in color than those were identical in meaning.Study 2 found that individuals with high creativity tend to have stronger prepotent response inhibition ability.Accordingly,significant activation of negative components differences in the middle frontal lobe,the middle parietal lobe and the middle occipital lobe during the priming task of prepotent response inhibition in individuals with different levels of creativity were found in the time window of 350 ms-450 ms.Based on the above results,the findings of this study are as follows.Firstly,semantic processing and color processing belong to different information processing system,but both of them were processed and stored in form of semantic information in working memory.And under the condition of target orientation of color judgment in the process of prepotent response inhibition,semantic information tended to process automatically and color information tends to process controlled.Secondly,individuals with high creativity tend to have stronger prepotent response inhibition ability and participants with unique creativity may have different information processing tendencies.High creativity participants tended to process information controlled,and low creativity participants tended to process information automatically.Thirdly,the frontal lobe,parietal lobe and occipital lobe regions were involved in prepotent response inhibition activities of different creative people.The activation time of each region was from the frontal lobe and parietal lobe to the occipital lobe,with a time difference of about 100 ms.
