In daily life, people often use spatial concepts to describe moral vocabulary, such as "lofty" and "base".This congruency effect of space-valence has been confirmed in experiments, but it is unclear whether its internal mechanism is influenced by conceptual metaphor or polarity correspondence.Based on the classic space-valence congruency paradigm, this study conducts the upward and downward movement trends and their range, and explores the influence of body movement trends on the congruency effect of space-morality.In experiment 1,32 undergraduate subjects were required to judge the moral valence of vocabulary which displayed at the top-half of the screen or at the bottom-half of the screen. The MANOVA analysis results of RTs show that both the top and the bottom of the screen have the interaction between moral valence and vertical position. All the immoral vocabulary has the space-valence congruency effect, but the moral vocabulary has the effect only in the bottom-half field. The moral words are influenced by bodied polarity in the top visual field, resulting in the ceiling effect. In experiment 2,the fixation points were placed at the center of the screen, the vertical distance between the upper and lower vocabulary positions was changed, and another 32 undergraduate subjects were asked to judge the moral valence of the words. The MANOVA analysis results of RTs show that a significant space-valence congruency effect occurs under the small distance condition. However, only the main effect of vertical position and moral valence appears under the large distance condition. There is no interaction between moral valence and vertical position, and the congruency effect disappears. In experiment 3,32 undergraduate subjects were required to judge the moral valence of vocabulary which displayed at the top-half of the screen or at the bottom-half of the screen first, then they would be required to judge the “p” or “q” follow the vocabulary in different positions. The results showed that in the priming task of moral concept to vertical space, all the vocabulary has the priming effect both in the top visual field and in the bottom-half field. But the main effect of vertical position, moral valence and visual field were not signiment. In experiment 4,the priming task of vertical space to moral concept paradigm was used to study the effects of body movement trends on spatial-valence congruency under three conditions: large, middle and small distance condition. The results show that the moral vocabulary has the space-valence congruency effect only in the condition of middle distance. The four experiments' results infer that the space-valance congruency effect of moral words comes from the combined effects of conceptual metaphor and polarity correspondence. The polarities of body movement, vertical position, and valance have effects on the connection of conceptual metaphors.
