The relations between the state of Qin and Chu underwent significant changes and developments during the rein from Xiao of Qin King to the King Qinzhao.Qin and Chu maintained a peaceful and friendly alliance relation from the Spring and Autumn Period to the early Warring States Period. However, since the time of Xiao of Qin King, the conflicts and fights between the two states grew inevitably due to the overwhelming rise and expansion of Qin.The two states relations deteriorated over the time, with increasingly apparent conflicts. The bilateral relations became contradictory, tense and complicated.During the period from the King of Hui-Wen to the King Qinzhao, the two states relations went through dramatic changes, with direct wars and conflicts. However,Qin often cajoled Chu as a result of Chu's special status. At the same time,Chu united other states to fought against Qin from time to time, which led to the paradoxical and inconsistent policy of Qin against Chu.Hence, the two states were in a mode of alternation between war and peace. At the same time, during the period from Xiao of Qin King to the King Qinzhao, the two states experienced enormous changes in terms of their power. The disparity of two states power continued to gape, with Qin eventually becoming predominant in the twostates relations. The relations between Qin and Chu not only reflect the different strategies and qualities of the rulers of the two states, but also have a direct impact on the rise and fall of the two states.Through the research on this issue,we can get a glimpse of the factors influencing the Qin's unification.
