With the implement of "the 13 th Five-Year Plan" for tourism industry,China's government encourages to promote the globalization of tourism market,which brings a new strategic period for inbound tourism.Yanshi,with the reputation of "an ancient capital of seven dynasties",actively responds to this call and fully integrates tourist resources to attract foreign visitors,generating a large demand for tourist translation.Therefore,the translator was entrusted by Yanshi Relics Tourism Administration to translate introductions of some scenic spots,and on the basis of this practice,the translator completes this translation practice report.This tourist materials cover the introductions of 6 scenic spots,including the natural landscapes and cultural landscapes.The original text contains a variety of proper nouns and four-character idioms,and a lot of rhetoric is used,which forms many symmetrical structures and a lyric style.Therefore,the translation should not only adapt to the language habits of target readers in order to make it easy to understand,but also make an adaptation to the readers' cultural psychology and aesthetic habits in order to make it acceptable.The research perspectives of Adaptation Theory put forward by Verschueren-contextual correlates of adaptability and structural objects of adaptability-study how to make the translation realize the communicative function at contextual level and linguistic level,which can provide effective guidance for the reproduction of this text.Therefore,the translator chooses Adaptation Theory to guide this practice,and analyzes how to make flexible language choices from the perspectives of contextual adaptation and structural adaptation,so as to achieve the greatest equivalence in function and meaning.The report consists of four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction of translation tasks,which contains the background,the contents of text and the requirements of the client.The second chapter describes the translation process and theoretical review and applicability.The third chapter is the case study,a core part of the report,making a specific analysis from the perspectives of contextual adaptation and linguistic structure adaptation.The forth chapter summarizes the translator's experience,which concludes the limits and deficiencies of this report and the aspiration required from this translation.Under the guidance of Adaptation Theory,this report analyzes its application in translation of tourist texts in detail,summarizes the deficiencies and limitations,andthen concludes the experiences and inspirations of the translator.
