The problems——shortage,tardiness,inferiority and waste exist in our English teaching for a long time,which lead to the defect in English listening and speaking.This phenomena is especially obvious in less developed areas and countryside of China.Speaking is the basic ability of primary school students to learn English while their ability of oral expression is poor in general.They fail in developing the habit of expressing themselves in English with their own initiative and they fail to speak English fluently and accurately when communicating with others.The students of primary school can write down an English word but they can't pronounce it correctly or they know how to pronounce the word and know the meaning of the word but they fail to use the word in simply daily English communication,which is ubiquitous in English language teachingThrough a period of teaching experience,the author finds that many students perform well in words pronunciation as well as dictation and reciting English texts while they feel afraid and worried when they are required to make simple sentences or conversations and they tend to make grammatically and meaningfully wrong sentences under teachers' requirementsHow to teach speaking is a key and sticking point in English language teaching.Many teachers teach speaking in a monotonous way that they teach pupils how to read the words and then ask to repeat in the same way.Teachers seldom emphasize the pronunciation and the intonation of a word and they ignores the explanation of the context in which the word or sentence can be used.We need to reflect on what causes the deficiency of pupils'ability to speak English fluently and accurately by using what they learn in English class.How can teachers improve pupils' speaking by organizing class games based on Leap Frogging English Teaching which is an emerging English speaking teaching method?The study tries to use action research by using four research method including questionnaire,interview,class observation and test to study whether teachers can improve pupils'speaking fluency and accuracy by organizing class games based on Leap Frogging English Teaching thus teachers can improve teaching effects of speaking.The study aims to answer two research questions as followsThe first one is how class games based on Leap Frogging English Teaching can influence students'speaking fluencyThe second one is how class games based on Leap Frogging English Teaching can influence students' speaking accuracyThe thesis includes five chapters.Chapter one mainly introduces the research background,goal,significance and framework.Chapter two is literature review which includes the theoretical explanation of Leap Frogging English Teaching,class games,English speaking accuracy and fluency,and previous study at home and abroad.Chapter three is action research design which illustrates research questions,subjects,procedures and methods.Chapter four is data collection and analysis which analyze the data collected by questionnaire,interview,classroom observation and test one by one.Chapter five is conclusion which puts forward some suggestions for Leap Frogging English Teaching in speaking in the future and explains defects of this study.
