Research Into Australian China Studies Since The 21st Century

Australian China studies is an important part of overseas China Studies.Especially since the 21st century,its research fields are broadened,the research team is increasingly growing,the research publications have been gradually increased,the research covers a wider range of disciplines and the research strength is continuously improved,all these indicate that Australian China studies is not the edge of overseas China studies,but an important research area.This paper mainly investigates the contents of China's history,ideology and culture,society,politics and economics,not involving the fields of art,law,military,environment as well as the emerging media and social psychology.This paper is divided into the following six parts.The first part is introduction.This paper mainly introduces the origin and significance of the topic selection,current research,the possible innovation points and research methods.The second part overviews the history of Australian studies in China before the 21st century.This paper sorts out the research status of each stage,and makes a comprehensive and profound understanding of the general situation of China Studies in Australia before the 21st century.The third part makes a general introduction of Australian China Studies since the 21st century.It focuses on the research institutions,major publications and research team on China Studies in Australia.Since the 21st century,the research institutions have greater advantages in terms of personnel power and academic activities.In addition to traditional publications,a variety of new carriers are more convenient for scholars to conduct research.The number of the scholars is increasing and they mainly major in the fields of humanities and social sciences,most scholars have a good command of Chinese.The fourth part introduces the main research contents of Australian China studies since the 21st century.It involves China's history,ideology and culture,society,politics and economics,strives to show major works in every fields of representative scholars and their main viewpoints;and analyzes the main reasons why Australia pays attention to each field.The fifth part is the comparisons of Australian China Studies since the 21st century.This part compares with the China studies before the 21st century and withChina Studies in the United States.We can clearly understand the characteristics and development trends of Australian China studies since the 21st century,and know the uniqueness of Australian China studies.The sixth part is the academic evaluation and reflection of the Australian China studies since the 21st century.This paper evaluates the representative scholars from their values and political tendency,makes an overall evaluation of the influential works.The reflection is mainly based on the deficiencies of Australian China's studies.
