The Study Of Fantasy Stories During Wei,Jin,South And North Dynasties

Fantasy stories are folk tales with relatively strong imaginary characteristics.It is a long history literary style,yet still exists.We have lot of fantasy stories from ancient China;however,researchers rarely summarized and studied them with this regard.As a result,people are not acquainted themselves with such stories in a comprehensive,systematical,and thorough way.Wei,Jin,Northern and Southern Dynasties is blossom period,when a large sum of fantasy stories came into being,and abundant fantasy story types were generated as well.These stories were mostly included in collection of supernatural fiction,people fiction,and Buddhism and Taoism works at this particular time.Through finding their foundation,this article aims to sorting out and classifying all these fantasy stories,exploring their historical background,literal spontaneity and"consciousness;meanwhile studying their implicit life philosophy and literary value.The other purpose of this article is to pave its way of further studying the fantasy story's development rules,causes,features and influences,etc.,and to serve as an tentative exploration to study fantasy stories in a more comprehensive and systematic manner.This article constitutes 4 chapters.The introduction clarifies the basic concepts of fantasy stories,analyses the Chinese ancient fantasy stories,the research status of such stories from Wei Jin,Northern and Southern Dynasties,and the development steps of the stories in our country.The first Chapter categorizes the fantasy stories into 5 types which include immortals,regular human being,miraculous people,demons and animals.These types are confirmed after studying the standard classification defined by current researchers.On the basis of these five major categories,the subcategories are being defined according to leading characters or different story line.Therefore,this chapter is a systematical classification of fantasy stories during this period,meanwhile provides fundamental prerequisite to the study in the next chapters.The Second Chapter probes fundamentally into how the Wei,Jin,Northern and Southern Dynasties became the source soil of fantasy stories.By analyzing the blossom historical background,literal spontaneity and consciousness of fantasy story itself,this chapter reached its conclusion that the bloom development of such stories has been a retraction of the whole era,and also the self-conscious result and specific forms of literature.The third chapter discusses the life philosophy implied by the Wei,Jin,and Northern and Southern Dynasties fantasy stories.Fantasy stories are popular folk tales which reflects the life of common people,the thinking,comprehension,insistence and fantasies towards life itself during this period.This chapter began to discuss the author's reviews on life existence of time,space and form,is to reveal the nature of life behind the stories,by analyzing the life philosophy implied by such stories during this period.The fourth chapter explores the literary value of the Wei,Jin,and Northern and Southern Dynasties fantasy stories.The stories during this period not only opened up the subject source of fantasy stories and enriched their content performance,but had also widely and profoundly influenced on narrative literature to the later ages because of its unique artistic pursuit and infinite eharisma.This ehapter manifests fantasy stories' contribution to the Chinese literary history and non-negligible literary value,by studying its impact on theme development,artistic pursuit and literature in later years.The addendum listed the Wei,Jin,and Northern and Southern Dynasties fantasy stories by category in form.The subcategories are sorted out according to the characteristic of fantasy stories after reviewing tremendous classics,and by referring to the research result of Mr.Jingwen Zhong,Lianxiu Qi,and Shouhua Liu.
