Freehand brushwork is an important concept in traditional Chinese painting.Freehand brushwork does not place too much emphasis on the shape and color of objects, but emphasizes the use of ink and brush to convey the "interesting" of the creator's heart. The so-called "direct writing on the chest is also." Freehand drawing uses unique language and techniques to convey not only a thought and emotion through the metaphor of the image, but also a unique aesthetic taste through its unique form. However, there are many differences between western oil paintings and Chinese traditional paintings.Western traditional oil paintings pay more attention to "reproducing" and more are trying to express the authenticity, imagery and objectivity of objects.Due to differences in politics, culture, ideology, and economics between East and West,Western paintings and Chinese traditional paintings have different manifestations and aesthetic features in addition to differences in materials and techniques. However,it is the difference between the two arts that provides a useful opportunity for the fusion of modern art.More and more oil painting artists begin to learn the art concepts and language skills of Chinese traditional freehand painting, combined with modern western oil painting art.Different aesthetic ideas are reconciled to create new artistic forms. This article is through his master's three-year study of oil painting, and a comprehensive analysis of Chinese painting, and combined with his own creative practice,to discuss the meaning and possibility of the use of freehand expression in oil painting creation.
