The Jing River Valley stretches across Shaanxi and Gansu provinces,with rich coastal soil and dense population.Since the Qin and Han Dynasties,because of its special geographical location and convenient irrigation conditions,it has become one of the earliest basins in the northwest region.As the Ming and Qing Dynasties population surge and the increase of agricultural reclamation strength,basin soil erosion degree aggravate,land productivity has fallen dramatically,increasingly strained relationship between population and land.the rural surplus population to be living out on the road of business,and become the main force of business group of shaanxi,provides power for the commercial development of northwest.In the context of the rapid development of commodity economy in the Ming and Qing dynasties,the economic crop cultivation and grain commercialization development of Jing River Valley have achieved great achievements,and the commercial towns have been flourishing for a while,thus causing the change of regional society.This paper,whose study area based on the Jing River and its major tributaries,surrounded the natural environment,agricultural development and commercial development of three aspects,analyzed the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the area of economic development and social change related content.In the first part,through the introduction of the natural environment of Jing River Valley and the evolution of the political area,it has a clear understanding of the location conditions and the changes of the natural environment.The second part introduces the population growth,the development of agriculture and animal husbandry and the construction of water conservancy projects in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,and analyzes the relationship between agricultural development and ecological environment change.The third part investigates the prosperity of Jing River Valley commodity economy and commercial town.The fourth part analyzes the changes of industrial structure,the impact of this change on society,in order to show the history of the basin development process,from which summarizes historical experience,to provide reference for cross-regional joint governance.
