Research On Contemporary Figures Sculpture In The View Of Postmodernism

Postmodernism denies subjective and objective,integrality,stability,and emphasizes on difference.It overstates uncertainty and instability,and thus is unable to discriminate good and evil,and beauty and ugliness,which results in obscurity of artistic creation for figure sculpture,generalization for sculpture concept,and common,democratization,and vulgarization for sculptor and sculptures;besides,it leads to chaos of all relativity.It how to break through such kind of straits is a problem worth our thinking.This paper combines with philosophical theory of postmodernism,and tries to overview development status of contemporary sculpture,which makes professional question crystallize,materialize,and diversify,and finds out suitable knowledge to explain them.Specifically,contemporary figure sculpture is put in the view of postmodernism to analyze and research this problem from prospect of deconstructive and constructiveness.Influence of deconstructive: it denies subjectivity of sculptor for figure sculpture,and objectivity of figure sculpture itself through challenging Logos-centrism.Influence of constructiveness: it advocates multi-perspectives and ecological contemporary figure sculpture.Road of figure sculpture is endless,we must learn and think how to realize our own value within limited time,how to maximize cultural value of sculpture language.For contemporary figure sculpture in China,it is necessary to combine research achievements of postmodernism theory,to review contemporary figure sculpture from multi-dimensional and diversified way of thinking and methodology.Positive elements can be applied in the development of contemporary figure sculpture to enrich our sculpture language,and meanwhile,negative elements are made self-analysis and further self-awareness only after giving great insight to postmodernism.We should not only absorb any good idea in the world,but also convert them into the development of contemporary figure sculpture in China,and make pygmy contribution for prosperity of Chinese art.
