Yan Lianke, known as the “Master of Absurd Realism”,holds a pivotal position in the history of contemporary literature.Despite his reputation,he never ceases writing.Such an unrivaled and still active writer, obsessed with absurd expression of the Chinese bottom society, tries to depict the true picture of China today for readers through the technique of absurdity.Absurdity is not only a writing technique in his works, also the reflection on human life. The endless dilemma and futility of real life in the face of absurd and strange world fill in Yan's novels. Therefore,he attempts to present the absurd reality of world and life,as well as people's tragic struggle in life.Although some previous studies have focused on the absurdity of Yan's works, most of them discuss it in some chapters,or just stay in the context of absurdity and resistance, and there is still lack of overall research on absurdity of his novels.Hence this paper aims to discuss both the absurdity philosophy and writing skills of Yan's work from absurdity perspective and outline the absurdity of his works at a higher level, namely the level of absurd poetics. This paper consists of four parts: the first part emphasizes on combing the concept of “absurdity”;the second part analyzes the absurd reality and rebellious behavior in Yan's novels, starting from Camus' absurd philosophy;the third part discusses the absurdity in language and image from writing skills;the fourth part explores the mutual relations between works of Yan,Marquez and Camus from the perspective of intertextuality.
