The Dignity Writing Of Jia Zhangke’s Films

Dignity writing is a new dimension in Jia Zhangke’s film studies.This paper,with dignity as the key point and Feminism and Ideological Analysis as the auxiliary perspectives,tries to explore the social problem orientation behind dignity through the presentation of dignity in Jia Zhangke’s films.By this way,it analyses Jia Zhangke’s way-out experiment and tries to explore the problem of dignity concept from the critical perspective.This paper is divided into four parts:The first chapter is "Jia Zhangke’s concept of dignity".This chapter focuses on what Jia Zhangke’s concept of dignity is and the source of the historicized concept of dignity.Jia Zhangke’s concept of dignity not only has the meaning of decency in the folk tradition,but also connects the noble and solemn state in the modern context.According to Jia Zhangke’s life experience,the concept of dignity can be traced back to the character’s wet nurse.By exploring Jia Zhangke’s individualistic stance,it can be inferred that Dai Zhen’s philosophy and the "Western Humanism Trend" in the 1980s are intrinsically related to Jia Zhangke’s concept of dignity.The second chapter is "The dignity presentation of Jia Zhangke’s film".This part is the core of the paper.Jia Zhangke’s expression of dignity is reflected in his character images,which can be divided into several aspects:thieves,workers,women,patients,fathers,"home" and "country".Under this division,social reality and individual experience present a grassroots picture,and it is in these images that the concept of dignity is expressed.The third chapter is "Dignity as a vision--Jia Zhangke’s thinking and practice".Jia Zhangke’s practice includes four points:the establishment of a direct attitude;the reflections on "violence with violence" model;the "money best" values and the"de-moralization" perspective.From this discussion and analysis,we can grasp Jia Zhangke’s humanistic concern.The fourth chapter is "The exploration of the problem from the perspective of dignity".As a summary,this chapter critically discusses the problems existing in Jia Zhangke’s dignity vision,such as "the Bottom" and "the Marginal";the limitations of individualism;Written criticism of female dignity.
