Musical originated in Europe and America at the end of the 19 th century,it has a very broad artistic inclusiveness,if we take this stage art form as a whole,its constituent elements almost cover most of the art categories in the world today.Musical is a stage art based on theatrical performance,with vocal music and dance as its important forms of expression.By combining the forms of performance,song and dance,the ultimate goal of the play is to present a complete story.Among them,the actor's success in shaping roles will directly affect the effect of the plot.This paper will take Shanghai Conservatory of Music's original musical “Shanghai The Melody” as an example,and deeply analyze how musicians shape the target roles in the original repertoire.“Shanghai The Melody” is a Chinese excellent original musical produced by Shanghai Conservatory of Music and premiered in Shanghai Lanxin Theatre in 2015,the play takes the world anti-fascist war and anti-Japanese war of the twentieth century as the background of the times,and revolves around the historical origin between Jewish musicians and the predecessor of Shanghai Conservatory of Music,the National Academy of Music,from the perspective of Jewish violinist “Arthur Una”,this paper shows the national spirit and humanistic care of the Chinese nation during the war.The author has the honor to play the hero of the play,“Arthur Una”,and to be the first moulder of the role.The author hopes to help more musicals practitioners or students through his own experience in shaping original roles.
