The new curriculum standard proposed that teachers should creatively use teaching materials based on practical teaching and students ' existing level.It aims to meet different teaching objects and actual teaching conditions.Text reconstruction is exactly the embodiment of creative use of textbooks.It requires teachers to reconstruct the existing texts by supplementing,deleting,and reorganizing teaching content according to the teaching material as well as students level.The text reconstruction emphasizes the overall presentation of the language and advocates putting the scattered words,phrases,sentence patterns into the appropriate segments.The significance of text reconstruction is to provide students with a richer and more meaningful learning material.Based on the scientific research theories of constructivism,situational learning and holistic linguistics and combined with teaching practice,this research further explored the application of text reconstruction on English reading teaching in senior high school.It aimed to explore whether students' reading achievements and interest can be improved after the application of text reconstruction in senior high school.86 students who came from the first grade of Fanting Middle School were participated in the experiment for 8 weeks.The author randomly selected a class as an experimental class and adopted the teaching mode of text reconstruction.The other class adopted the PPP reading teaching mode.The research tool consisted of two papers and one questionnaire.All data were collected and analyzed using SPSS 17.0 after the experiment.The results indicated that students' reading scores in experiment class were generally higher than conrol class.Besides,the results of questionnaire showed that students ' reading interests has increased after the application of text reconstruction.Hence,the onclusion can be drawn that the method of text reconstruction effectively improved students ' reading ac hievements and English reading interest.This research has certain practical significance for the classroom teaching research of high school and teachers 'reading teaching,which provides a new perspective for reading teaching.However,this study also has some limitations,such as a shorter experimental period and a smaller number of subjects.Subsequent research can expand the scope of the study and extend the experimental period.
