Writing From Spy Theme To Diversified Theme

Five novels,such as Decoded,Plot,Sound of The Wind,Wind Whisper and Point of a Knife,have been widely praised for their successful challenges in the same theme,which is called ‘Intelligence novel' or ‘Spy novel' by academics.However,the paper is more inclined to call it ‘Intelligence novel'.In recent years,there are signs of transformation for Mai Jia,for example,he has also created short novels such as Lu Xiaoyi,Military Records and Jap,which involve women,military,history and other diverse themes.The spy subject is only a form of expression in the novels.The foothold of his creation is humanity.In order to explore the characteristics of special novels,the writing of diverse themes and the reason of transformation from creation of spy theme to others,this paper takes the theme as the entry point,and uses long novel like Decoded,Plot,Sound of The Wind,Wind Whisper,Point of a Knife,as well as the short novel,like Let The Masked Man Speak,Two Fuyang Girls,Lu Xiaoyi,The Life,Jap as the research object.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the article is divided into three parts:In the first part,the author studies the characteristics of Mai Jia's novels from three aspects such as the stunning theme itself,the legendary description of the heroic image and the narration of the labyrinth.For the first aspect,the author analyzes the definition,particularity and attractive reason of the spy subject.For the second aspect,the author studies the legendary description of the heroic image.For the third part,the author presents Mai Jia's spy novels draw on the maze narrative of Borges' s dark condolences.The second part analyzes Mai Jia's short novels from the aspects of female themes,military themes and historical themes.The female theme shows that Mai Jia i concerns about female chastity and marriage.The military theme presents the values of self-selection of soldiers in peacetime and the rigidity of certain military systems.For the historical theme,the author takes the special historical period like the Great Cultural Revolution to reveal the standard of good and evil of human nature under certain historical conditions.Although the subjects are different,they reflect that Mai Jia reveals the humanity through the daily life arduously.In the third part,the author explores the reasons why Mai Jia changes his novel's topic from special theme to other themes.It is mainly divided into three aspects.The first one is the choice of going beyond oneself.Mai Jia is a man who is loyal to himself,so he abandons his existing brilliant achievements to start again,even facing great challenges.The second are changes and requirements of the era.The last one isthe reader's aesthetic expectation.Mai Jia's spy novels,such as Decoded and Plot,have successfully challenged readers' expectations.However,readers and academics have produced certain aesthetic fatigue for his novels,because the subsequent novels are so stereotyped that the characters,plots and writing methods are typified in Feng Yu as well as Point of a Knife.Mai Jia tries to explore the most hidden human nature by writing about diversified themes,which can strike a chord with the reader,and realize the literature suits both refined and popular tastes.
