Egon Schiele was a well-known expressionist painter in Austria.Although he died of influenza at the age of 28,he has also left behind a wealth of works of art.Schiele was born in Toulon,Austria.As a teenager,he went to Vienna Art and Business School to learn painting because of his amazing talent.And at here,he met the teacher who had a great influence on his whole artistic career,the founder of the Vienna Secession,decorative painter,Gustav Klimt.Schiele's early painting style was influence a lot by Klimt.Later,in constant exploration,he gradually found his own style and his style was unique in the history of art.This paper starts with the formal language of painting,deeply analyses and shows the elements of Schiele's paintings and the rules of formal beauty in Schiele's paintings.The first part of this paper discusses Schiele's life story and style of his work,as well as his genre and the characteristic of expressionism.Afterwards,the influence of characters in different periods on Schiele have been discussed,like his teacher,a famous symbolistic painter,Klimt's style and a well-known psychologist,Freud and his psychoanalytic school.In the second part of this paper,the formal language in Schiele's painting works has been deeply analyzed in four parts,which are composition elements and picture segmentation,black-white-grey layout and color structure,picture composition center and edge angle processing,the style and emotional connotation of Schiele's painting works.The last part,mainly uses the formal language of painting that learned in Schiele's painting works to analyze and improve my own works.And have a profound understanding of these elements in a creation of the role and manifestation,include the point,line and surface,picture segmentation,black-white-grey elements,subjective processing and emotional expression.And apply these to all stages of my own creation,Sosa s to enhance my own aesthetic level and creative ability.
