Vocabulary is one fundamental component of language,and it's very necessary to learn vocabulary.Therefore,vocabulary teaching methods are widely concerned by scholars,experts and teachers.The emergence of mind map has prompted the majority of educators at home and abroad to begin to apply this knowledge visualization tool to the field of education in order to improve the effectiveness of education.Mind map is visual tools of knowledge representation and a way to embody radioactive thinking.Since the introduction of mind map tools and ideas based on the concept of thinking into education,it has had a positive impact on the process of the education and teaching.This research uses Knowledge Visualization Theory and Memory Processing Hierarchy Theory as the theoretical basis to explore the application of mind map in primary English vocabulary teaching.This research selected 62 students in the fourth grade of primary school in Lanzhou as the research subjects,and the experiment lasted for two months.The control class uses the method of reading the words followed by the teacher,while the experimental class uses the mind map method to teach the words.It mainly uses test and dictation methods to design English vocabulary maps that meet the cognitive habits of fourth-grade students,and explores the role of in vocabulary memory,thus improving students' memory of vocabulary learning.The research questions in this research are as follows:(1)Can the use of mind map for English vocabulary teaching improve primary school students' spelling accuracy?(2)Can English vocabulary teaching through mind map improve primary school students' level of vocabulary usage? This research mainly carried out these aspects of work: First,there is a pre-test for students in the two classes before the class,and the purpose is to ensure that the two classes have the same level of English.After the test,the way of drawing mind map is giving to the experimental class.Second,at the end of each week,students are dictated by words and dictated eight times.Third,there is a post-test in each of the class.Finally,the researcher uses SPSS 22.0 and Excel to analyze and process the resulting data.The results show that mind map can promote primary school students' memory of English vocabulary.In the teaching of English vocabulary,the use of mind map can improve the word spelling of students.Finally,this study summarizes the experience and shortcomings of the entire experimental study,and prospects for subsequent research.
