Sonata for Violin and Piano in D minor was created by Brahms from 1886 to 1888.It belongs to Brahms’ later works.The work is the last one in his three violin and piano sonatas.The music structure of this work is huge and the creation is close to symphonic works.The musical structure continues the creative tradition of the classical period.the first movement is sonata form and Allegro.Musical materials are varied and the forms of Violin and piano playing are flexible and rich.Music is full of the composer’s rational thinking and strong emotional,which shows the dramatic in the work.From the perspective of performance and musicology,this work is the richest one in connotation of his three violin and Piano sonatas,and it is a classic that all violinist must learn.By learning the information given by the composer in the music score.In the author analyses the structure of the work,performance technology and musical expression.the writer combines some background information of Brahms and the work,analyses key and difficult points in performing and solves these problems.The author hopes that the paper can provide a useful research material for violinists.at the same time,to have a deeper understanding about Brahms’ music works.
