A Comparison Between Lin Fengmian's And Changyu's Painting Languages

Lin Fengmian and Changyu are important representatives of modern Chinese painters in the 20 th century,their painting language and practice have greatly promoted the development of modern and contemporary painting.Lin Fengmian and Changyu lived in the same era.In their early years,they were edified by Chinese traditional art and had studied in Europe successively.Influenced by western modern art,they enriched the connotation and form of Chinese modern painting in the concept of "integration of China and the West",and formed two different painting languages and artistic styles.This paper consists of four parts.The first part of the article mainly elaborates the two painters from the background of the times,the cultural atmosphere and the artistic process.The second part is the focus of this topic,which analyses and compares the similarities and differences between their painting language and aesthetic pursuit from the aspects of artistic inheritance,composition,theme,shape,line,color and emotion.It also focuses on the analysis of their "integration of Chinese and Western" artistic concepts and painting practice,and interprets the different artistic images and aesthetic pursuits what they create.The third part mainly explains the modernity and innovative spirit of the two painters' paintings.Based on the historical situation and artistic context,this paper discusses the artistic style language and its influence on modern and contemporary art.The fourth part of this paper is after a long period of interpretation of Lin Fengmian and Changyu's artistic language and style,combined with own creative practice,the author elaborates on their understanding and perception of painting art,trying to draw inspiration and motivation from their innovation of modern language of painting.This article will focus on exploring the manifestations and evolution of the two painters' painting language,exploring the specific influence of Lin Fengmian and Changyu on modern and contemporary art respectively,the different forms of expression of their painting context and style language,so as to show the unique charm of the two masters' works of art.
