New Start English was published by People's Education Press introduce Phonics to spell words since the first semester in grade three and independently appear in “Let's Spell”.Phonics is a way to spell words in English-speaking countries from kindergarten.Phonics refers to a method for teaching learners to read and write word by directly learning the rules of pronunciation of letter or groups of letters.Therefore,it is possible to use for reference which come form the foreign teaching.Children tend to speak something when they think it,their characteristics of language are situational,lack of coherence and less organization.Therefore,the isolated pronunciation and boring practice are not good for students to stimulate their motivation and initiative.However,not only can stimulate the vivid interesting pictures and similar scenes of life students' interests in learning English,but also can improve the ability of using language synthetically.At present,most of domestic researchers just focus on effectiveness of vocabulary teaching,rarely researchers combine picture books and Phonics.In this study,I will use the English picture books were chosen as teaching resources to assist the teaching of Phonics in English textbook.Students master the pronunciation of words in happy reading process and finally get the vocabulary in a natural way.The questions of research are as follows:(1)To explore the effect on students' ability of listening,speaking,reading and writing in grade three primary school by teaching English picture books and Phonics together.(2)To explore the effect on students' interests in leaning English in grade three primary school by reading English picture books.This study will verify English picture books as teaching aids on the effect of students' ability of phonetic awareness,spelling and writing and the intersts in learning English.The test combines English textbook of grade three,based on Wiley Blevins' phonetic awareness test and spelling tests and tests in the website--www.ixl.com.Finally,researcher and English teachers jointly compile the pre-test and pro-test of phonetic awareness,spelling and writing.After experiment of teaching,I will interview five top students and five poor students who will be respectively chosen from experiment group and control group in order to explore the effect on students' interests in leaning English by reading English picture books,and the conclusions are as follows:(1)The ability of the phonetic awareness and spelling of the students between the experiment group and the control group had rarely difference,but the ability of writing of the students in experiment group improved greatly compared with those who were in the control group.(2)Both of top students and poor students like to read English picture books,they willing to take the initiative to go reading and get different degrees of development.Therefore,reading English picture books is conducive to improve students' s interest in learning English.
