Executive function is the control center of the brain, which is responsible for regulating the allocation of cognitive resources in the brain, and is the guarantee mechanism of the individual's advanced cognitive ability, including inhibition control, working memory and cognitive flexibility.Executive function plays an important role in individual learning, work, life and physical and mental health. In recent years, researchers at home and abroad have been conducting interventional studies on children's executive function. However, the existing studies at home and abroad mostly focus on school-age children, and the research methods and evaluation methods are not suitable for the physical and mental development characteristics of preschool children.Previous studies have shown that 4-5 years old is the key period for the development of children's executive function, which will change qualitatively for the individual's executive function. Therefore, this study assumes that the use of training methods suitable for children's cognitive development and behavioral characteristics can effectively promote the development of children's executive function.Research objective: This paper aims to explore how to design and implement executive function promotion activities suitable for the physical and mental development of 4-5-year-old children, and how to test the effect of implementation.Through the research on the promotion of the executive function of 4-5-year-old children,it provides a new entry point for the design of preschool children's activities and enriches the forms of kindergarten activities.Research method: Pre-school children aged 4-5 years were selected as the study subjects. The subjects were divided into experimental group and control group. The changes of working memory, inhibition control and cognitive flexibility before and after participating in activities were measured by picture memory task, peach heart flower task and dimension change card classification task. The results were analyzed by SPSS17.0 independent sample t test.Line analysis.Research result: After 16 weeks of activity training,(1)There was a significant difference in the total score of executive function between the experimental group and the control group,p=0.03.(2)There was no significant difference in the score of working memory between the experimental group and the control group,p= 0.23.(3)There was no significant difference in the score of inhibition control ability between the experimental group and the control group,p= 0.075.(4)There was no significant difference in cognitive flexibility between the experimental group and the control groupp=0.41.Research conclusion: This activity can effectively promote the overall level of children's executive function, but it can't effectively promote a single core competence of children's executive function. The use of games and toys can effectively promote the overall level of executive function of 4-5-year-old children, but it fails to have a significant impact on a single dimension of executive function.
