There is a certain correlation between executive function and children's lying behavior and lying ability. It is of great significance to study the relationship between executive function and children's lying. If we can confirm the effect of executive function on children's lying through theoretical and practical research,we can take appropriate methods to restrain children's antisocial lying and improve children's prosocial lying by influencing children's executive function, thus promotes the child healthy growth and the social harmonious development. In addition, studies have shown that 7-9 years old is a critical period for children to accelerate the development of executive function, but there are some differences in the development trend of the three main components of executive function. For example, the accelerated development period of inhibitory control is about 6-7 years old,the accelerated development period of working memory is about 7-8 years old,and the accelerated development period of cognitive flexibility is about 7-8 years old and 9-10 years old. There are some problems in the existing literature about executive function and children's lying, such as the research content is not comprehensive and detailed, the research conclusions are inconsistent, and the research objects and methods are limited. In this paper, based on the existing research, and in view of the shortcomings of the existing research, using experimental methods, the relationship between executive function and lying of 7-9-year-old children is studied in depth.84 children aged 7-9 years old in a primary school were selected as the research participants. Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of different components of executive function on children's antisocial and prosocial lying. In Experiment 1,the classic "resist temptation situation" paradigm was used to investigate children's antisocial lying.By creating a situation in which experimental assistants help children keep secrets after violating rules, children's prosocial lying was investigated. The classic word / color Stroop task was used to investigate children's inhibition and control ability,so as to investigate the influence of inhibition and control components of executive function on children's lying. In the second experiment, the classic "resist temptation situation" paradigm was used to investigate children's antisocial lying.By creating a situation in which experimental assistants help children keep secrets after violating the rules, children's prosocial lying was investigated. The classic flanker fish task was used to investigate children's cognitive flexibility,so as to investigate the impact of cognitive flexibility components of executive function on children's lying. The results are as follows:The inhibitory components of executive function were negatively correlated with antisocial lying, while the inhibitory control components of executive function were not significantly correlated with prosocial lying. The cognitive flexibility component of executive function was positively correlated with prosocial lying, while the cognitive flexibility component of executive function was not significantly associated with antisocial lying.
