As an important part of Chinese traditional culture,Wushu culture is closely related to Chinese classical philosophy, classical literature,Chinese medicine theory, military and religious culture. It has profound cultural connotation and implication, and is an important carrier of Chinese traditional culture.Under the background of cultural globalization, the internationalization of Wushu culture is of great significance for demonstrating China's excellent traditional culture and establishing cultural confidence. At present, there are still many problems in Wushu translation. On the one hand,in order to adapt to the language habits and cultural values of the target language, the expression of the Wushu cultural connotation is neglected, and the mistranslation and mistranslation of the cultural image appear; On the other hand,in order to embody the uniqueness of Wushu culture, all the features and language styles of Wushu culture are preserved, which ignores the cultural differences between China and the West, and hinders the external communication of Wushu culture. All these problems indicate that translation of Wushu needs to deeply explore the cultural connotation of martial arts from the perspective of cultural communication,so as to realize the external communication of Wushu culture on the basis of establishing cultural confidence. The thesis selects 81 movement terms with cultural images as research objects. The movement terms are divided into three categories according to the cultural similarities, dispositions and vacancies, then analyzes the cultural images of these terms.Based on the theory of domestication and foreignization, and following the general principles of Wushu translation, this thesis adopts transliteration, literal translation and free translation to translate Wushu movement terms.this paper draws the following main results:(1)Domesticating and foreignizing translation is a new attempt to translate Wushu movement terms.Because the Wushu movement is not only a description of action, the images of animals and plants in the term also have profound cultural connotations.Translation should not only express the basic meaning of the movements, but also convey the cultural connotation. Therefore, this paper applies the theory of domesticating and foreignizing to analyze the translation of movement terms from the perspective of cultural translation and communication.(2)In the process of translating movement terms, this paper follows the principles of accuracy, reader response theory, simplicity and translation aesthetics.First of all,we should accurately understand and express the meaning of Wushu movement terms;Secondly,we should mind the differences between Chinese and Western cultural images in terms, and try to make Western readers have similar cultural associations as much as possible; Finally, paying attention to the conciseness and aesthetic principles of terms.(3)In translation,Wushu movement terms are divided into three categories: cultural similarity, cultural disposition and cultural vacancy. The first category includes wild horse, tiger, fair maiden and other common cultural images between Chinese and Western cultures, which can be translated according to the corresponding vocabulary in English; The second category includes cranes, peacocks, plum blossoms and so on,which can be translated by means of cultural image transplantation or substitution; The third category includes dragon, phoenix, kirin and so on.Because of cultural vacancies, there is no corresponding vocabulary in Western cultures.Transliteration can be used to preserve the cultural image in Wushu movement. With the continuous development of economy, society and culture,China's influence in the international community is constantly increasing. To demonstrate the unique charm of Chinese culture and enhance the soft power of Chinese culture are fundamental guidelines for building a strong socialist cultural country.
