The Childish Beauty Of Introspection

This article focuses on the collection of contemporary Vietnamese paintings from the Singapore Art Museum.Through the comprehensive analysis and image comparison of the painting forms of Vietnamese contemporary works in the collection,this paper reveals the self-consciousness of Vietnamese contemporary artists towards their own inner feelings and explores the historical origin and connection between Vietnamese art and Western Modern-Contemporary Art.First,the author gives a brief introduction to the Singapore Art Museum and its collection of contemporary Vietnamese paintings.Singapore Art Museum and National Gallery Singapore are the two major public art museums,and preliminary arrangement of the collection of contemporary Vietnamese paintings.Then,analyses of the formal expression of Vietnamese contemporary paintings.From the four aspects of stroke,colour,composition and sculpt,four main features of collection work are summarized: 1.Simple and rhythmic stroke,2.Contrasting colors,3.Simple and planar composition,4.Childlike form.Then compare with the paintings of some Eastern and Western artists to discuss the impact of external culture on Vietnamese society in many aspects.Through the comparison of specific images,this paper explores the introspection of contemporary Vietnamese paintings on the trauma of The Times and personal feelings.In chronological order,from War,Doi Moi and Vietnam respectively the three phases of the development of contemporary painting narrative,the form and the spirit of the contemporary painting found Vietnam tendency by Vietnam political change in the historical background and the influence of economic policy,so that the Vietnam artists will feelings introspection to personalized narrative appears in the picture.Finally,the paper summarizes the significance of the collection of contemporary Vietnamese paintings in Singapore Art Museum,analyzes the artistic pattern of the combination of regionalism and internationalization of contemporary Vietnamese paintings,and takes the example of "building a collection with southeast Asian characteristics" in Singapore Art Museum to provide reference for Chinese Art Museums.
