The Indian films released in China in recent 10 years(2009-2018)have attracted widespread attention and received favorable comments among the Chinese audience.Such films not only entertain the audience, but also help shape the national image. One of the key reasons for this change is Indian films' successful breakthrough in narrative mode. This paper will focus on the research of the specific narrative features and narrative functions of Indian films in the past decade from four aspects, namely theme expression, character writing, plot narration and audio-visual language. It is hoped that the research can provide a reference for narration reform in Chinese films in the context of cultural diplomacy on a global scale. With eight Indian films released in China in the past decade as the object of research,a comparative analysis is conducted using the text analysis method and the comparative research method.Through research,it is concluded that the Indian films released in China in the past decade have successfully concealed the narrative discourse. Moreover, the design at the narrative level and audio-visual level makes the story contents more prominent than the discourse mechanism. This plays a crucial role in communicating and promoting Indian culture, shaping a good image of India and enhancing India's international discourse power.
