Shanxi Opera(Jinju)also called Shanxi Bangzi,is a local Chinese opera that prevails in the vicinity of Shanxi,Inner Mongolia,and Shaanxi.Shanxi Opera(Jinju)including Aria,Guomener(Passing),Qupai(Tune),Gongs And Drums.Among these four parts,the Gongs and Drums is also known as "Wuchang" which is the accompaniment of percussion instruments.The Gongs and Drums occupy a very important position in the art of Shanxi Opera.Therefore,the analysis of the orchestration and application of the Gongs and Drums could be a better guidance to the practice and deepen the understanding and application of traditional music.The first two chapters of this article introduce the general situation of Shanxi Opera and the storyline of?Arrogant Princess?,the second chapter mainly introduces the five instruments used in Shanxi Opera percussion and its basic orchestration principle.The third chapter analyzes four different aspects of the Gongs and Drums in four different music score samples:stable rhythm,natural transition,tuning for singing,and non-rhymatic rhythm.Finally,it is an overview of the "People's Sentiments" in Shanxi Opera and the current situation of JinjuWith the advancement of society and the advancement of people's aesthetic consciousness,the art of Shanxi Opera has gradually declined.But the most pristine culture embodied in the music should be valued and preserved.Nowadays,in the bold innovation,the opera also appropriately retains the original charm of Shanxi.As the inheritor of music,it should be carried forward and passed down.
