The Study On The Fox Image In Taiping Guangji

As the first collection of classical Chinese nonfiction,Taiping Guangji contains a large number of supernatural stories,among which there are 83 stories about foxes in 9 volumes,accounting for the largest proportion of the whole book's animal stories.All kinds of images of foxes were recorded in the 83 stories of foxes,among which 66 were works of tang people,which vividly showed the group images of foxes in the stories of foxes in the tang dynasty.When it comes to fox,Chinese people know it far more than its biological attributes.It has been gradually bewitched and spiritualized in people's minds,and has become a rich animal image.It can be said that fox carries too much cultural connotation in Chinese culture,and it has become a cultural carrier.For this reason,the fox has become a favorite of novelists,and the literature related to it has become a perennial subject in ancient Chinese literature.The rise of the subject of fox story is largely attributed to the prosperity of the ancient folk belief in fox.The belief in fox also has a specific cultural background in China,and its prosperity is caused by many factors,such as the characteristics of fox itself,the influence of Chinese culture and the influence of public psychology.The flourishing of fox belief is reflected in the emergence of literary works with fox themes.In addition,"Taiping Guangji" story fox images are mostly different personality,they or gratitude,or mischief.In addition to these different characters of the fox image,the hidden behind the cultural connotation is also a place of concern,such as the fox image of regional,hu,religious and feminine.As a "sea of novelists",the influence of the works included in Taiping Guangji on the literature of later generations should not be underestimated.The same is true for the stories of foxes,which have a profound influence on the development of the literature works with the theme of foxes.As for the image of fox in the story of Taiping Guangji,no scholars have studied the cultural connotation behind it at present.Secondly,the classification of these fox stories is also an innovation,which helps to analyze the fox images in a more systematic way.From the current academic research results,there are no academic monographs or academic dissertations dedicated to the study of fox images in Taiping Guangji.Occasionally,there are sporadic journal papers related to these images,which are only simple classification and summary of the fox images,and do not involve the cultural connotation behind these images.Therefore,this paper takes the stories related to the fox in Taiping Guangji·fox volume as the text,and takes the fox image as the entry point to deeply explain the cultural connotation behind the fox image,in order to enrich the research results of the fox image,broaden the research field of Taiping Guangji,and provide a new research perspective for the academic circle.
