A Study Of Auspicious Stories In Taiping Guangji

The concept of auspiciousness existed in the Pre-Qin period of China.And was the object of great attention to record in historical books of the past dynasties.Literary genre such as poem and Fu are often drawn materials from it.This paper takes the auspicious stories in Tai Ping Guang Ji as the research object,and explains the development and connotation of the writing of the auspicious stories in Tai Ping Guang Ji through the analysis of the auspicious stories.The introduction part of this paper first explains the auspicious sign,Then it introduces the current academic research status of Xiangrui and the research status of Xiangrui in Tai Ping Guang Ji.Finally,it introduces the significance of research and methods of this paper.The first chapter mainly discusses the background and documentary sources of auspicious stories in Tai Ping Guang Ji.Firstly,defines the research object of this paper and discusses the background of the concept of auspicious and the development of auspicious literature from the Han Dynasty to the early Song Dynasty.Then analyzes the source of auspicious stories in different periods.It is found that from Han,Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties to the early Song Dynasty,there are many differences in the number of documents and auspicious signs and the text types of auspicious stories.And then to explains the documents which record many auspicious stories.The second chapter classifies the auspicious stories in Tai Ping Guang Ji,and analyzes the four kinds of auspicious things--animal auspicious,plant auspicious,utensils auspicious and celestial auspicious.Among them,animal auspicious mainly introduces the dragon auspicious and snake auspicious and analyzes the features and symbolic significance they have.Plant auspicious mainly introduces the characteristics of trees and ganoderma.Auspiciousness of utensils mainly introduces the characteristics and symbolic significance of stone,gold and silver,jade and pearl utensils.Because the text involved in the celestial auspicious is less,respectively introduce the symbolic meaning of the thunder,rain,rainbow three kinds of celestial auspicious signs.The third chapter analyzes the writing development of the foregoing auspicious stories,which is specifically reflected in the formation period of the Han,Wei,Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties.The plot of the auspicious stories is simple and the story nature is weak.In the Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties,with the continuous improvement and progress of the style of the novel,the plot of the auspicious stories became more complete and rich,and the character of the stories became stronger.The auspicious stories in the two historical stages are increasingly diversified in types and lengthened in length,and begin to take on the characteristics of humanization.The fourth chapter discusses the political connotation and cultural connotation of the auspicious stories in the Tai Ping Guang Ji.The political connotation is an important connotation of the auspicious stories,which is the affirmation of the legitimacy and authority of the monarch’s power,and the praise of the monarch’s merit and political achievements.The cultural connotation discusses the scholars’ pursuit of fame,fame and fortune at that time and the Buddhist and Taoist religious connotation reflected in the text.
