Object:The research is to investigate the relationship between attachment style and volitional action control orientation, and the characteristics of emotional processing of different attachment styles in demand and stress situations.According to action control theory, positive emotions can help individuals overcome difficulties, enact planed actions efficiently and accomplish tasks in threatening or stressful situations.Negative emotions can interrupt implementing the planed action, and ultimately give up the goal. Therefore,it is of great significance to up-regulate positive emotions and avoid the rumination of negation emotion in failure or stressful situations.Attachment,as an important social affection of human beings, has a far-reaching impact on individual survival and development.Exploring the relationship between attachment and volitional behavior can further reveal the impact of human emotions on behavior. Methods:The Experiences in Close Relationships inventory and the Action Control Scale were employed to investigate the relationship between attachment style and the orientation of action control in a sample of 404 individuals. The characteristics of affect processing in different attachment style were investigated by the affective priming experiment in the 54 college students of failure condition and the graphic recognition experiment in the 48 college students of stressing condition. Results:the first research1.There was a significant negative correlation between the score of action orientation and the score of attachment anxiety dimension(r=-0.31,P<0.01);there was a negative correlation between the score of action orientation and the score of attachment avoidance dimension(r=-0.12,P<0.05);there was a significant negative correlation between the score of action orientation and the score of attachment anxiety dimension(r=-0.30,P<0.01)in threat situation.2.The secure attachment was positively correlated with the action orientation in the demand situation,r=0.22,p<0.01;the secure attachment was positively correlated with the action orientation in the threatening situation,r=0.17,p<0.05;the preoccupied attachment was negatively correlated with the action orientation in the demand situation,r=-0.19,p<0.01;the preoccupied attachment was negatively correlated with the action orientation in the threatening situation,r=-0.26,p<0.01.The second research1.The main effect of the target stimulus was significant,F(2,52)=63.25,p<0.01,?~2=0.55.The response to positive words was faster than that to negative words.2.The interaction between prime stimulus and target stimulus was significant,F(2,104)=3.66,p<0.05,?~2=0.066.3.The interaction of attachment style and prime stimulus and target stimulus significantly,F.(2,104)=3.85,p<0.05,?~2=0.069,For secure attachment group, when the target words were negative, there were significant differences between different prime stimulus,F=3.84,p<0.05,the speed of negative affective prime significantly faster than positive affective prime,t=2.50,p<0.05 and neutral affective prime,t=2.13,p<0.05;When the target words was positive, there were significant differences between different priming primes(F=3.63,p<0.05).The speed of positive affective prime significantly faster than negative affective prime t=-2.04,p=0.052 and neutral affective prime,t=-3.64,p<0.015.4.For preoccupied attachment group, the correct rate of positive affective prime was significantly lower than that of negative affective prime,t=-2.354,p<0.05.5.In the condition of positive affective prime, the correct rate of positive words was higher than that of negative words,F=5,p=0.03<0.05.The third research:1.The main effect of image valence was significant,F(2,92)=5.833,p<0.01,?~2=0.113.The recognition speed of negative images was slower than that of positive images and neutral images.2.The main effect of graph consistency was significant,F(1,46)=12.143,p<0.01,?~2=0.209,the response was faster when consistent than when inconsistent.3.The interaction between image valence and attachment style was significant,F(2,92)=6.879,p=0.002,?~2=0.13.The response after focusing on negative images was slower than that after positive images,t=2.9,p<0.01,and the response after neutral images,t=2.628,p<0.05.In the secure attachment group, the response after positive images was slower than that after negative images(t=2.9,p=0.078),and the response after neutral images(t=3.037,p<0.01).4.In the case of inconsistency of graphs, the response after negative images was significantly slower than that after positive images(t=2.345,p<0.05).In the case of graph inconsistency, the response after positive images was significantly slower than that after neutral images(t=3.349,p<0.01),and was also slower than that after negative images, with no significant difference.5.The main effect of graph consistency is significant,F(1,46)=4.231,p<0.05,?~2=0.084,and the accuracy of inconsistency is higher than that of consistency.6.The interaction between valence and consistency is significant,F(2,92)=6.259,p=0.003<0.01,?~2=0.12.When the picture is positive, the correct rate of graph inconsistency is significantly higher than that of graph consistency,F=4.66,p<0.05.Conclusion:1.Attachment anxiety is negatively correlated with action orientation, while attachment avoidance is not correlated with action orientation.2.The preoccupied attachment individuals are affected by the negative information, and they contribute more cognitive resource to negative information. However, the secure attachment style individuals are affected by positive information, and they contribute more cognitive resource to negative information in the context of failure threat or high pressure. It indicates that the secure style attachment individuals have the ability to up-regulate positive emotions in the condition of negative, while the preoccupied attachment individuals inability to up-regulate positive emotions.
