The three major elements of language composition are vocabulary?grammar and pronunciation,among which the vocabulary is the most important because it is the basis of communication.Therefore,foreign language teaching can't be improved without vocabulary teaching.In the book English Curricum Standards for Senior High School(2017),the requirement for vocabulary has increased from 1800-2000 to 3000-3200 words and 1000-1500 new words and a certain number of phrases,excellent students should know 4000-4200 words.But to student,vocabulary remembering is the important and difficult point during the whole period of English study.To teachers vocabulary remembering teaching is the key point of English teaching.However,vocabulary remembering is not a simple process which is mechanical.It requests teachers to teach students attach importance to their own methods of vocabulary remembering and improve them constantly by tactful vocabulary teaching.The essay is aimed at increasing the number and quantity of students' vocabulary remembering with the method of Cognitive Strategy Training.Cognitive Strategy Training can make vocabulary remembering twice the result with half the effort.It can not only help students speed up their remembering,but also strengthen students remembering effect.Especially to sports excellence that the author teaches,in addition to raising their interest to English learning and grades,it can remove the most basic reading disorder and make them finish simple questions in test paper.The research is searched,collected and edited by Literature Method,Questionnaire Method,Interviewing Method,Classroom observation method and Action Research Method.The objects of study are selected among 39 P.E Students in class 11,grade 2,Yongji S Middle School,the teaching materials are the 5 units of New Senior English For China Student's Book 7 published by People's Education Press.The study carried on nine stages,sixty weeks Cognitive Strategy vocabulary remembering training and testing,which are aimed at finding out whether students'methods of vocabulary remembering has changed before and after the training,and also whether Cognitive Strategy teaching can strengthen the effect of sports excellences vocabulary remembering.After questioning 36 students and interviewing 4 students and knowing the present situation of students' English vocabulary learning,the teacher arranged a pre-vocabulary experiment test.And then the teacher carried on Cognitive Strategy Training for the students,.Besides,the teacher presents tactful vocabulary teaching during teaching.At last,the teacher carries on a vocabulary test and a questionnaire survey to the students after the training.By comparing the two results of the tests and the results of the questionnaire survey,the teacher has summarized out the vocabulary teaching strategy which can improve YongJi S high school students' present station.What's more,it can improve the effect and quality of vocabulary teaching.By students' understanding of vocabulary,increase their interest in English study,make teachers teach easily and let students learn happily.This study can not only help teachers strengthen their realization of the importance om Cognitive Strategy during their vocabulary remembering teaching,but also help students raise the awareness of study strategy and use cognitive strategy effectively to promote vocabulary learning and using during vocabulary remembering.
