Religion is closely related to politics.which is carried out in a specific.religious and cultural background. The relationship between politics and religion in Japan has a long historical continuity. The establishment of the ancient imperial regime, the modern imperial regime and the modern symbol of the imperial regime are all inseparable from Shintoism. The emergence, development and fall of Japanese militarism are also inseparable from the promotion of Shintoism. It can be said that Shintoism is the ideological root of Japanese militarism and the two is mutual interaction and complementary. On the one hand,Shintoism promotes the emergence and development of Japanese militarism;on the other hand,Japanese militarism also makes use of Shintoism. No matter from the ideological weapons or the practice of aggression, there will be no Japanese militarism without the protection of Shintoism. This paper focuses on the analysis of influence of Shintoism on Japanese militarism in the formation and development of the process.Firstly,a large amount of academic materials were consulted to clarify the current research status of the academia on Shintoism and Japanese militarism and on the basis of previous research results,a new research perspective was proposed.Secondly, the historical analysis method and comparative analysis method are used to sort out the different development patterns of Shintoism and militarism in different historical periods, and find out the relationship between them. The relationship between Shintoism and Japanese militarism before and after the Heisei period is analyzed. The specific chapters are arranged as follows:the first chapter is the emergence and development of Shintoism in Japan, and explains how Shintoism,as the national religion of Japan, come into being and develop, and analyzes the invasion and expansion thought contained in the original myths and legends of Shintoism. The second chapter is the formation background and development process of Japanese militarism. The formation of Japanese militarism is inseparable from both the special geographical environment of Japan and the samurai class, which is deeply influenced by Shintoism.Once the samurai class who advocates force masters political power, under the promotion of nationalism and extreme patriotism,Japan will naturally go on the road of militarism aggression and expansion. In modern times,it forms the imperial militarism and further develops into the fascist militarism. The third chapter expounds the Japanese the influence on militarism before Heisei period, from the Jomon era to the Edo period,Shintoism develops into shrine Shintoism and sectarian Shintoism, the myth of aggression and expansion recorded in Shinto ancient books has inspired the later aggression practice, and the ruling class hype these thoughts,so it promotes the Japanese militarism bud. After the Meiji restoration until the end of the second world war of the early stage of the Showa era.modern Japanese empero system is formed, and Shintoism rise at the level of the national Shinto.Due to the strong religious color of the political structure of the Japanese empero system,"the emperor worship" and"the kingdom" and other militarism thoughts are from the Shinto,so this period Japan's militarism developed rapidly. And with the help of state Shinto power,it controls the Japanese citizens and colonial people. With the defeat of the second world war,Japan implemented the separation of religion and politics, and the militarism system was disintegrated. The last part of the article discusses the relationship between Shintoism and militarism since the Heisei period. On the one hand, after more than 2,000 years of development,Shintoism has become a culture, which is deeply rooted in the Japanese mind.On the other hand, the rising religious forces after the war actively participated in politics through various ways, and the voting intentions of the public were generally affected by religious beliefs. At the same time, the right-wing clerics in Japan's religious circles and the right-wing forces in the political groups colluded with each other, which aims to control the Japanese elections through a large amount of money and sacrifice, resulting in the emergence of "religious voting fields" in the election movement. This has not only intensified Japan's political rightward drift, but also aroused the international community's concern about the revival of Japanese militarism.
