| Art concepts representated by mathematics has long fascinating artists, especially in music composing.Sofia Asgatovna Gubaidulina(1931—)was not only concentrated on the calculation of fixed Fibonacci sequence, but also applied it to create the beauty of harmony and disharmony.Gubaidulina’s first application of the Fibonacci sequence on music was in the work Perception in 1983.Since then, she showed her idealistic concept of controlling mathematical ratios in form, which reflected on her arrangement, structure, rhythm and melody. The thesis aims on analyse mathematical logic she applied on the work Quasi Hoquetus and The Beginning of the Rhythm based both on her consideration and intuition. The two works also presented her unique, systematic and intuitionistic sound of composing.Besides, the application of Fibonacci numbers will also be explained from perspectives of partial layout, movement layout, and part&movement layout in the works Perception,String Trio,Homage to marina tsvetayeva,Stimmen...Verstummen....The purpose of composing will come out during the interpreting. The thesis is divided into four parts. In the first part, the track Fibonacci sequence applied on the works of Charles Camille Saint-Saens,Eric Alfred Leslie Satie,Achille-Claude Debussy,Bartok Bela,Karlheinz Stockhausen and Luigi Nono, who were the contemporary composer of Sofia Asgatovna Gubaidulina, will be analysed to find out their similarities and differences. The uniqueness of Gubaidulina’s thinking of structure will come out during the discussion. The second part will conclude the ingenious composition method base on the six works of Gubaidulina. The mathematics thinking will be carried out through the overall analysis of Quasi hoquetus and The beginning of the rhythm in the third and fourth part.Lastly, the significance of the Fibonacci sequence in Gubaidulina’s work will be analysed from the perspective of the relationship between mathematics and Gubaidulina’s music.Fibonacci sequence,as an important element in her work,is the external embodiment of musician’s concept. |
