In modern society, with the rapid growth of knowledge, knowledge of the update cycle is shortened, and society demands higher and higher quality of people.Traditional learning methods have been insufficient to meet people's needs.Mobile learning emerges as the times require and is gradually known by people.Mobile learning is a kind of learning that can occur at any time and anywhere with the help of mobile devices.Mobile devices used in mobile learning must be able to effectively present learning content and provide two-way communication between teachers and learners. In addition, various kinds of learning application software emerge in endlessly, providing learners with rich and dynamic learning content, greatly enhancing the learners' electivity and autonomy. For domestic college students,English learning is still a required course.English is the first universal language in the world, and its importance is self-evident.Before entering the society, college students must have the ability of adapting to social development and language ability for international communication. Therefore, besides mastering their own professional knowledge, they should constantly improve their English level in order to lay a solid foundation for personal employment and development.Supported by reflective journals, this study conducted a one-year experiment on mobile learning of English listening for non-English majors, aiming at exploring the impact of mobile learning on college students' listening. In this experiment, the subjects were divided into the experimental group and the control group, each with 50 people. The researcher introduced mobile learning in the experimental group and regularly collected reflective journals. The researcher conducted traditional English Teaching in the control group and did not require any mobile learning. This study uses quantitative and qualitative methods to solve the following two problems.1.Can mobile learning with reflective journals improve learners' English listening competence?2.What are students' attitudes toward mobile learning with reflective journals? The results of this study show that: Firstly, after one year of mobile listening learning, the students in the experimental group have improved their English listening ability, and their average scores exceed those in the control group.According to effect size, the Cohen's d after experiment is 0.54,which is in medium effect.Secondly, the vast majority of students believes that mobile learning is helpful to them, which is reflected in the improvement of language ability, exercise of will and improvement of communication skills.Thirdly, students have diverse views on reflective journals, and most of them hold positive attitudes. Some people regard reflective journal as a notebook of mobile learning to record learning content;others regard it as an exercise book of English composition, while writing reflection for writing practice.Fourthly, mobile learning has the advantages of convenience, mobility, autonomy and selectivity, but also faces many practical challenges. In the absence of wireless network coverage, mobile learning is difficult to carry out.Improper mobile learning can cause information anxiety.Mobile learning also has hidden dangers of network information security. This study combines mobile learning with reflective journals to explore its impact on college students' English listening ability.Qualitative research is added on the basis of quantitative research, which not only proves the validity of mobile learning from the data aspect, but also analyses the advantages and disadvantages of mobile learning from the perspective of the subjects. It has certain reference significance for the research of related aspects of mobile learning.
