Research On The Effect Of Fiber Art Under Digital Media Technology

In the 21 st century,the fiber art,as a long-history traditional art discipline,starts facing another type of transformation– “orientation to science and technology” during development in this era.Because of the transformation of traditional fiber art towards advanced science and technology,fiber artists start focusing on further leading science and technologies.As required,understanding of “doctrine” in technological theories and pursuit for “artworks” in art practice need to be more rigorous,so a wider horizon can be explored for fiber art.Development of science and technology,extension of materials,innovation in forms and conveying of emotions become major keys focused by digital fiber art in the new era.The topic is selected based on two backgrounds.Firstly,the paper pays close attention to digital media technology and emphasizes impacts brought by digital media technology to traditional art forms during the development,based on which the author starts pondering over the personal practice in fiber art design.The paper mainly conducts trans-disciplinary effect exploration from the perspective of fiber art.Secondly,the topic is based on the “Practical Research on Combination of Digital Media Projection Technology and Fiber Art” implemented by the author during the postgraduate program.Achievements of the topic research indicate that digital media technology plays a vital role in boosting and supporting formation and development of new visions of fiber art.Based on this practical case,the paper innovatively proposes the new item “digitalized fiber art”,expecting to boost development of fiber art in new dimensions.The paper follows the thinking logic of problem introduction,problem solution and conclusion summarization,takes solution of the singular static form problem of fiber art as the essential target and attributes it to conservative ideas in the fiber art field.Through trans-disciplinary acquaintance and interactions,the paper puts forward the concept of “digitalized fiber art” and makes demonstration through design practice.The paper comprises four chapters.The first chapter describes the problems concerning conservative thinking mechanism and obscure judgment of fiber art design in development.The second chapter and the third chapter probe into the problem solutions.In combination with theoretical foundations of digital media and fiber art,the feasibility of the digital media technology in fiber art innovation is demonstrated in practice.The fourth chapter is the conclusion summarization of the third part.It is concluded: Firstly,a new fiber art form called “digitalized fiber art” is generated from combination of digital media technology and fiber art;secondly,different technical methods are involved in digital media technology,while different techniques acting on fiber art creation will generate different art forms and differential visual and experience effects;thirdly,everything is generated together with two sides,so the combination of trans-disciplinary concepts and technologies still has relevant strengths and weaknesses.
