Dungan overseas students from Central Asia is a special group among the numerous overseas students in China,they not only have the same historical background and cultural resources as us,Dungan language is also a kind of special variant of Chinese in Central Asia,which is similar as the dialects of Shanxi and Gansu,therefore,after they study in China,their oral competence promotes rapidly.But due to the life environment,they don't touch with Chinese characters,which become a difficulty in their Chinese learning,some students even have negative mood that fears of difficulty during the learning process.Starting from “word sense”,this passage takes the Dungan overseas students in the primary class of College of International Cultural Exchanges,Northwest Normal University as the research object,on the one hand,it investigates and analyzes the word sense condition of Dungan overseas students in the primary stage by questionnaire;on the other hand,it analyzes the word sense loss phenomenon of Dungan overseas students from Central Asia by collecting the Chinese characters bias error in the class practice and daily homework,and analyzes the bias error in the Chinese character acquisition of Dungan overseas students by the word sense principle,therefore,it puts forwards some detailed approaches for them to cultivate the word sense.Including the adoptive teaching models to cultivate the word sense;which shall follow the principles of recognition first,writing then;single character first;the combination of pronunciation,character pattern and literal meaning,and three detailed approaches to cultivate the word sense: I.Teaching by the combination of word component and structure;II.Carrying out the special class teaching of Chinese character;III.Carrying out some activities related to Chinese characters.Accordingly,it puts forward some teaching strategies for Dungan overseas students from Central Asia to cultivate the word sense,which can reduce the bias error and provide some thoughts for the Chinese characters teaching to foreigners.
