With more and more international students in China,relevant researches also emerge as the times require.This paper mainly studies the Chinese writing problems encountered by international students of intermediate and advanced levels during the preparatory stage.It collects and sorts out the writing materials of international students,describes and collects statistics on the errors they commit and analyze the reasons of the errors in an attempt of proposing feasible solutions.Previous researches on writing problems would focus on students with the background of the same mother tongue or target at the errors of a certain type in writing,lacking comprehensiveness.The author finds out in teaching practices that writing problems caused by the diversity of nationalities and Chinese level and the enormity of writing tasks faced by intermediate and advanced international students in China,thereby raising higher requirements on the teaching of writing.This time,the author wishes to describe as many errors in the writing of international students as possible,and attempts to analyze from the perspectives of students' learning and writing and teachers' teaching.The introduction part of the paper presents the origin and significance of the research,the status-quo of research at home and abroad,research objects and corpus source of the paper and methodology;the second chapter reorganizes and summarizes the collected corpus from the six perspectives of Chinese characters,vocabulary,grammar,discourse,punctuation marks and format,showing the writing errors of students in a detailed way with real data and examples;the third chapter starts from the perspectives of students and teaching in analyzing the causes of errors exhaustively,especially the perspective of the writing strategies of international students,so as to explore the causes for students'problems in writing.The fourth chapter proposes operable solutions by combining teaching examples regarding writing problems in international students.Although there are limitations to the research,the author still wishes to contribute some humble effort to the domestic Chinese writing classes.
