| This is a report on the translation of Chapter 3 of "Celebrity Fans and Their Consumer Behaviour: Autoethnographic Insights into the Life of a Fan" authored by independent scholar Markus Wohlfeil.The source text of the translation mainly takes insights into the stardom of movie star in movie study.According to Newmark’s text typology,the source text should be categorized into the informative text.As a result,the translator will focus on the faithfulness and readability of the translation under the guidance of the communicative translation theory.The report is divided into six parts: Chapter One is the introduction part,including the background and significance of the project,as well as the structure of the report.Chapter Two is about the introduction to and the features of the source text.Chapter Three is a description of the translation process,involving pre-translation preparation,translating procedure,and revision.Chapter Four is about the guiding theory of the translation project,Peter Newmark’s communicative translation theory,and the specific application of the theory in this translation practice.Chapter Five gives a specific analysis of the difficulties in the translation process,and corresponding translation techniques and solutions such as the division and addition.Chapter Six concludes with the implications and limitations from the translation project. |
