Study On Story Types Of U Paw Oo,Witty Character In Myanmar

Witty character stories are a category of folktales.As a witty character in Myanmar,U Paw Oo is attached to popular stories and treated as an "arrow stack" of people's wisdom and humor.After translating and editing the collected stories of U Paw Oo,this paper generalizes and classifies the stories of U Paw Oo by referring to "AT Classification",Folktales of China compiled by Eberhard(Germany),operation methods in Resourcefulness and Wit-A Study of China's Stories of Men of Resources compiled by Mr.Qi Lianxiu and classification research methods of the stories of Qiaonv in Story Type Cluster and Plot Type: Study of Chinese Qiaonv Stories(Part I)complied by Kang Li.This paper is composed of five parts in structure,and the first part is the introduction.In the introduction part,the background,purpose,method and significance of the study are briefly introduced.Chapter I is literature review,introducing the research status of stories of witty characters and story typology by scholars at home and abroad,and research status of stories of U Paw Oo in Myanmar.Chapter II is the main part of the paper.After introducing the classification of stories of U Paw Oo,according to the plot types,the stories of U Paw Oo are divided into ten types,namely,"U Paw Oo I: Saving Others","U Paw Oo II: Remonstrating King","U Paw Oo III: Skillfully Solving Difficulties","U Paw Oo IV: Perfectly Answering","U Paw Oo V: Teasing Others",etc.,and the story is briefly analyzed.Chapter III interprets the cultural implications of stories of U Paw Oo.The last part is summary,which makes a systematic summary of the study of this paper.
