| Vocabulary is the cornerstone of language building,which directly affects students’ listening,speaking,reading and writing abilities.One of reasons for junior high school students cannot learn English well may be that teachers’ teaching mode is not effective.Therefore,in order to improve the teaching effect of English vocabulary teaching in junior high school and lay a good foundation for students to learn English in the future,this thesis mainly studies from the aspect of teachers’ vocabulary teaching.It tries to improve teachers’ teaching modes so as to help students learn vocabulary well.By implementing the flipped classroom mode in English vocabulary teaching in junior high school,the author tries to explore the effect of its implementation.This thesis attempts to explore the following three questions:1)To what extent can the flipped classroom mode in English vocabulary teaching in junior high school stimulate students’ interest in vocabulary learning? 2)What changes have been made in the vocabulary learning strategies of the students in this mode? 3)What is the effect of this mode on the students’ English grade?Research subjects are the students in Class 1 and Class 2 of Grade 7 in X School.The experiment lasts for one semester and conducts for eight times.Class 1 is the experimental class,and the teacher uses flipped classroom mode to teach vocabulary.Class 2 is the controlled class,and the teacher uses traditional vocabulary teaching mode.At the end of the semester,the author collects data and analyzes results through interview,questionnaire and test.The results show that with the help of modern science and technology,the students’ interest in English vocabulary learning is greatly stimulated by using the pictures of specific images and the right animation effect,and then their English grade is improved.And at the same time,the vocabulary learning strategies transmitted by the teacher in the flipped classroom vocabulary teachingvideos have a subtle influence on the students,and they gradually master the good vocabulary learning strategies.The above results show that the implementation of flipped classroom mode in English vocabulary teaching inn junior high school achieves good effect.It is hoped that the findings of this thesis can provide some new ideas for front-line English teachers. |
