English plays an important part in the world with the rapid development of globalization.The key to learning English well for students is to master a large of number of vocabulary.It is a difficult part for Grade 8 of junior high school.Traditional vocabulary teaching methods are so boring.The large of Students lost interest in learning words.In addition,the efficiency of learning vocabulary is low.Flipped classroom plays an important part in cultivating students’ autonomy.Based on the relevant theories,such as flipped classroom and constructivism,this study aims to explore the application of the flipped classroom model in English vocabulary teaching in Grade 8 of junior high school,and try to find an effective teaching method to help students.There are three research questions in this study:Firstly,can flipped classroom inspire students’ interest in learning vocabulary?Secondly,can flipped classroom teaching model improve students’ autonomous learning ability and teamwork ability?Thirdly,Compared with the control class,can flipped classroom teaching model significantly improve students’ comprehensive use of vocabulary in the experimental class?This research adopts questionnaire survey,experiment,interview and other methods.The research tools include test paper,questionnaire survey and interview questionnaire.The research object of this paper is two parallel classes(class 2 and class 10)in grade 8 of Taiyuan no.3 middle school.There are 87 students in the two classes.Class 2 is the control class,which adopts the traditional teaching method to teach words.Class 10 is the experimental class,and flipped classroom teaching mode is used for vocabulary teaching.The same English textbook used by the two classes are for grade 8.The results of the research shows that flipped classroom effectively stimulates students’interest in learning vocabulary.In addition,it improves their English performance in the experimental class.What’s more,it can enhance their comprehensive abilities of vocabulary.Flipped classroom injects new theoretical knowledge into the classroom and improves the teaching quality.In the long run,teachers should keep looking for the flipped classroom teaching mode that is suitable for students in order to provide personalized learning mode for students.Let students give play to their own subjective initiative,truly become the master of learning,and provide a strong guarantee for the smooth implementation of flipped classroom.The flipped classroom has many shortcomings in the teaching process,which brings more challenges to teachers.Flipped classroom is based on micro-video and network teaching.Some remote and backward areas cannot provide these teaching conditions.It requires teachers’professional ability,students’ independent learning ability and parents’ supervision.Only when the three parts are closely coordinated and trust each other can flipped classroom be implemented smoothly. |
