Cheng has always had a profound meaning in ancient Chinese thought.In The Doctrine of the Mean,it can be said to be a core concept that runs through the book.It has the meaning of true innocence and sincerity,and is the natural manifestation of the human heart and nature.The Doctrine of the Mean believes that all things in the universe are generated in Cheng.Thus,Cheng is not only the natural attribute of all things,but also an important manifestation of the aesthetics of life,and what is reflected by Cheng is A life spirit of constant search is also the highest ideal and realm of life aesthetics.Therefore,Cheng is of profound aesthetic significance.This article starts from the Cheng discussed in The Doctrine of the Mean,and combines the propositions of "refining language to establish sincerity" and Mencius' s "fan shen er cheng" to explore the aesthetic significance of Cheng.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part analyzes and discusses the research significance and research status of the aesthetic significance of Cheng.The second part briefly reviews the interpretation of Cheng and the evolution of this category,exploring the original meaning of Cheng and its subsequent evolution,so as to grasp the changes in its meaning.The third part explores the aesthetic implication of Cheng from three levels,combining the propositions of "refining language to establish sincerity",Mencius' s "fan shen er cheng" and the Cheng in the book The Doctrine of the Mean to explore its connotation in aesthetics,to study the aesthetic ideals and aesthetic attitudes contained in Cheng."refining language to establish sincerity" emphasizes the modification of the literary verses,the restoration of the province to realize the truth of the heart,the restoration of the origin of the universe,the realization of true and innocent aesthetic care in "Licheng",and the Cheng of "fan shen er cheng" as a spiritual realm and aesthetic ideal in the vision of mind,the pursuit of perfect personality is consistent with the self-cultivation of Cheng in The Doctrine of the Mean.The Cheng in The Doctrine of the Mean has more rich and profound aesthetic connotation.It has the meaning of returning to the source,restoring the true meaning of existence,and implying the way of "tian ren zhi dao".The fourth part is implemented in the practice of life.From the perspective of the meaning of aesthetic education,it explores the personality cultivation of Cheng.and self-cultivation with cheng,so as to achieve the realm of the cheng and perfection of the gentleman and the saint.
