Folk art,along with the development of human history from ancient to modern civilization,has never stopped.In the long development of art,it has had a variety of artistic forms through constant change and development because of the different needs of the times.The peasant painting was painting form that appeared during a political movement called Great Leap Forward in the last century to coincide with the political propaganda at that time.However,with the end of the movement,it did not disappear,but developed into a free creative painting form for the working people to entertain themselves.After decades of unremitting efforts and exploring innovation through the three generations including the old,middle-aged and young generation,the peasant painting in the southeast of Guizhou province now has developed into modern painting with a variety of forms,wide range of expression,colorful and rich content from the simple,childish and immature in the past.In Guizhou province,five places have been named as "The Town of Modern Folk Painting" by the Ministry of Culture.They are Shuicheng farmer painting,Dafang farmer painting,Huangping farmer painting,Tonggu village farmer painting in Majiang and Jianhe farmer painting,the last three of which are all in the southeast of Guizhou.The peasant painting in the southeast of Guizhou,as a kind of folk art,deeply rooted in the soil of folk culture and absorbing the nutrition of folk art,has made brilliant achievements in the past decades.This thesis takes the farmer painting in the southeast of Guizhou with regional folk art as a starting point and studies the farmer painting in the Southeast of Guizhou in the historical process of the development of Chinese folk art.By visiting the Southeast Peasant Painting Town of Guizhou one by one,carrying on the spot survey,and doing face-to-face interviews with the local farmer painters,the author has obtained the relevant information and then carried on the artistic characteristics of the farmer paintings in the Southeast of Guizhou.This paper puts forward that the farmer painting in the southeast of Guizhou is a new form of the development of folk art,and it is also the bridge between folk art and modern art.The peasant painting in southeast Guizhou fuse the local folk art with their unique artistic features.It can be said that the farmer painting in the southeast of Guizhou is the essence of folk art.The influence of peasant paintings in the southeast of Guizhou has been increasing both at home and abroad in recent years.The local working people use the special way of peasant painting to express the traditional nation festivals,ancient folk legends,the story of ancient songs,and the production and life of ethnic minorities into the picture.The author hopes to deepen the knowing and understanding of the farmer paintings in the southeast of Guizhou through the study of them and provide a more detailed literature for the study of farmer paintings in the southeast of Guizhou.With the continuous development of society,these national cultures are slowly disappearing.It is the farmer painters in the southeast of Guizhou who use their brushes to record and inherit these precious Miao and Dong ethnic cultural heritages so that they can be inherited and developed.But inheritance and protection of the peasant paintings in the southeast of Guizhou need us to have a better understanding of the artistic characteristics of peasant paintings in the southeast of Guizhou so as to innovate and develop them more effectively.
