This dissertation takes the Ryukyu language policy as the research object.The language policy of Ryukyu actually includes two parts:The first is the language policy of the whole country with Japan as the main,including Ryukyu.The second is the language policy implemented by Japan in Ryukyu.This dissertation is divided into six chapters:Chapter 1 is the introduction,which describes the origins of writing and the significance of the topic.It also explains the scope of the research,the research methods and the former research results.Chapter 2 introduces the details of the language policy of each period of Ryukyu systematically.Chapter 3 raises questions and analyzes the problems of Ryukyu's current language policy:the problem of the language rights of Ryukyu Language and the language legislation in Japan,the debate on whether Ryukyu Language is a language or a dialect,and the problem of Japanese language diversity.Chapter 4 analyzes and summarizes the language situation of the Ryukyu Islands under the influence of the current Japanese language policy,the endangerment and causes of the Ryukyu Language,and makes the questionnaire and interview investigations through home visit.On the basis of analyzing the endangered causes of Ryukyu and the problems of Ryukyu's current language policy,Chapter 5 puts forward suggestions for the future Ryukyu language planning:emphasizing the construction of multilingual society in Japan and Ryukyu at the macro level,and emphasizing the maintenance of language awareness and Language Register at the local level.Chapter 6 is the conclusion,summarizing the full-text research and drawing the conclusions.At the same time,it shows the inadequacy of this dissertation and the prospect of future researches.
