Lines occupy a very important position in painting,here I think that the "line" is not only limited to the lines we see in front of us,but should be a "linear concept",it can not only truly reproduce the real existence of the artist in front of the image,but also convey the painter's subjective feelings of painting.Most of the Western oil painting is the discussion of light and color,the function and function of the line is often covered up,so the author focuses on the line of this element refined out,put in the realistic oil painting to study the function and application of the line.The author discusses the function and application of the line through three chapters,first of all,the first chapter introduces the outline of the line,the two forms of expression of the line and the development of the line.Secondly,the second chapter focuses on the analysis of the line with division space,balanced picture order,subjective variant,emotional expression of the four functions,and finally the third chapter elaborated the author's expression and understanding of the line,as well as the use of the function of the line practice in their own creation.Through the combing and analysis of the line,we find that the lines play a vital role and function in the picture.Looking at the development of oil painting,we have summed up the form of lines of two kinds,one is the dominant line,one is the recessive line.In the painting,the use of the line can not only shape the form of the image,but also convey the artist's feelings,lines of different forms of expression to convey different emotional expressions,in this article,the author focuses on the analysis of contemporary oil painters in some of the painting works of the use of the form and emotion,in order to use it into their own practical creation.
